Online Check Depositing

SCCU Virtual Branch Deposit is a secure service that allows you to scan paper checks from your desktop and electronically send the images to SCCU for deposit. In order to use Virtual Branch Deposit, all you need is a scanner, a computer with Internet connection, home banking and an SCCU checking account. After being activated for Virtual Branch Deposit, log into your home banking account and follow the “Online Check Deposit Member Steps.” Afterwards, simply scan the checks (front and back) and send an electronic image to a secure email address, and the funds are automatically deposited.

Do I need any special training to use Virtual Branch Deposit?
SCCU Virtual Branch Deposit is designed to be intuitive and user friendly. The system guides you through every step of the process.. You can begin depositing checks as soon as an Account Executive sets up your account.

When am I able to submit my deposits?
Deposits can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How many checks can I include in one deposit?
A maximum of 10 checks can be included in a single deposit.

Can multiple deposits be submitted each day?
There is no limit to the number of deposits that can be made in a day (up to your daily deposit limit dollar amount).

By what time does an online deposit need to be submitted for same day processing?
No matter what time, all deposits are processed the same day. The funds are, however still subject to the funds availability schedules provided at account opening. If you need an additional copy of our funds disclosure, please visit our website our contact the Credit Union.

Do I need to use paper deposit slips when using Virtual Branch Deposit?
No. Virtual Branch Deposit automatically creates an electronic deposit ticket for each deposit. Physical deposit slips aren't needed.

What kind of checks can be processed through Virtual Branch Deposit?
Checks payable in U.S. dollars and drawn on any U.S. bank including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Personal Checks
  • Business Checks
  • US Treasury Checks
  • Traveler's Checks
  • Money Orders

Can I scan loan coupons with my checks?
No. Virtual Branch Deposit can be used to scan and deposit checks, but not loan coupons.

How long should I retain the original checks?
After successfully scanning and emailing the checks for deposit, you should mark that the checks as having been deposited and store them in a secure location until destroyed. Please ensure that the scanning, storing and destruction of the original checks are done securely. There are no laws or regulations that state any specific length of time for you to retain the original checks.

Do I have to purchase special software to use Virtual Branch Deposit?
No. Virtual Branch Deposit is integrated into your SCCU home banking account, and does not require purchase of additional software.

Can I use a scanner I already own for Virtual Branch Deposit?
As long as your current scanner can clearly scan the front and back of your items for deposit, you may use your own scanner. There are no technical requirements as far as the type of scanner - .jpeg and .pdf files are preferred.
